Made from the newly reissued legendary Columbus tube set. We decided to size up to an 1 1/8" head tube and fork for more stiffness. The fork was a collaboration between Icarus and Geekhouse Bikes. I took their segmented Yo Marty fork, cut down the shoulders added some lug details and laid brass over the welds. The head tube joints are something totally new. They are bi-laminate style with some added internal lugging that can be seen with the cutouts in the top and down tubes. Its not all about making things time and money efficient, but making them beautiful. The metallic paint looks flawless on the large diameter tubes and smooth fillets. It will look just as good down the road when it is chipped and scratched. Chris wanted a race oriented road bike, something light, stiff and with perfect fit. It is made of Columbus Life Megatubes and an ENVE 2.0 carbon fork. It features the Icarus custom drop outs with brass faces, and a simple seat tube sleeve. Roman wanted a frame he could rip around the streets on that wouldn't be too flashy. This road bike belongs to a guy named Jon who just relocated from Boston to Austin. It is the first Icarus to implement carbon seat stays. Something I had some experience with back in my days at Seven Cycles. It also has a satin finish rather than gloss, which you can get from Circle A if you twist their arm a bit. Other highlights are an EDGE/ENVE carbon fork, internal brake routing and black feathers rather than bare stainless. Well I guess you could get most of that information from just looking at these. Some pictures floated around a bit before but now here are some photos taken by the owner Milica Wren after some street testing up here in Boston. The frame was built to be ridden on streets daily but also be aggressive enough for some track racing too. The frame has a simple look from afar but when you get up close, you'll notice a bunch of hand carved details from the head tube joints, seat stay/seat tube joint and at the fork crown/dropouts too. This is my first frame featuring bi-laminate head tube joints that switch directions. I think its a cool look and something I haven't seen before but somebody probably did it somewhere. It was painted by Toby at Hot Tubes and has a full Suntour Superbe group curated by the owner Milica. Another double seat tube creation. This one takes it a step further with a reverse s-bend so that the rear wheel passes between the seat tubes. It also has a wishbone seat stay setup that goes in between the sea tubes and a head tube about a mile long.
